Our trip to the Cowboy Museum in OK City was sure fun. There is a lot in there! They had an entire room dedicated to Barbed Wire. Did you know there was more than one kind of Barbed Wire? I sure didn't. There are many! Who knew? Just in case you ( or any little cowboys you know) are interested in this topic here is an interesting link. You can even start your own collection!

You can also get books on this subject. I think we will check the library. According to one website I looked at, "There were more than 530 patents for barbed wires. Including variations of these patents, bootlegged (unlawfully produced), and homemade wires, there are over 2000 types of barbed wire."
There was a totally hands on room for the children that you will see in the last "Cowboy Museum" post. It was neat. You could build a log cabin with giant Lincoln Logs made of foam, dress up in cowboy clothes in one area, and many more things. There was so much to see!
