We found a very pretty green, plump caterpillar recently. We put it in our bug box. While we were debating wether to keep it or not it made its cocoon! Yikes! We only kept it over night! We were trying to figure out what it was. Hopefully, it is a Luna Moth but of course, I am not a professional. Here are some pictures (and information) of a Luna Moth.

So you have to really look to see the cocoon. It looks like a white rabbits foot on the right side. It is laying down so I hope that isn't a problem. Most of the time the cocoon is hanging.
A day or two before this happened I was seriously thinking of throwing the cocoon in the trash. We went out of town for a couple of days and this is what we found when we returned. Isn't it beautiful? I can't believe how white the body is.
It may be hard to tell from the pictures but this is BIG!
