Can you believe it? My baby girl is going to be turning 17 years old very soon. I know I sound just like all the other parents out there but I am going to say it anyway, "It just doesn't seem possible"!
Where has the time gone?
I still remember so vividly when Michael brought Catrina to me to see for the very first time. As I laid there with my arms strapped down (c-sections will do that to you) I couldn't hold her. I wanted to but all I could do was look at her. I remember being amazed at how beautiful & perfect she was. I also remember my eyes filling with tears and I didn't even know why. Maybe it was the hormones or maybe on some level I knew it was the first day of the rest of our lives with a blessing that was so huge, I couldn't even imagine it.
I often wondered during the first several years of her life what she would look like and what kind of person she would grow up to be. After 17 years that question has certainly been answered (a long time ago). Somehow (must have been God) she has turned out to be a beautiful & precious young woman. And they all said the teen years would be terrible. 'They' were sure wrong!
This post is dedicated to 'my Catrina'....you are precious, I am proud of you, and I love you so much. I don't mind telling the whole world either.
