I Have Socks Older Than You!!!

All of you that are 40 and over.
I have a question for you.
Is age 40 (or close to it), the time you start looking around and saying things like, wow, that makes me feel old! Is it the time when you look at people in their early 20's and say, "they are just a kid". Is it the time you start making your blog posts in the "large font"? Or is it the time when you are watching American Idol and they say that one of the amazing contestants was BORN in 1983! Then your husband looks at you and says "WHAT??? SHE WAS BORN IN 1983? I was a freshman in high school and she was just being born!!!" Oh, my gosh! This feels so weird.

I also made a recent discovery. At my house I have 2 pair of knee socks. Nice thick soft ones. They aren't the most beautiful things but they feel great. Whenever my girls go skating they borrow these. (They don't even own knee socks and of course that seems weird to me.) Well, recently those socks were laundered and returned to my sock drawer. While putting them up I had this revelation. These, soft, comfy, not so pretty knee socks were socks that I used to wear when I went roller skating....when I was a little girl!!! (Aren't they groovy?) How can this be? I realized, that saying I have heard many times is now true at my house. I literally have socks older than my daughters. There is just something wrong with that isn't there? Now, is when I start to marvel at the quality of knee socks made in the 70's so I will be distracted by the reason for this post!

If you are going to be 40 what does that make me? I keep getting the email that says do you remember when and I remember all of the good times in the 50's and 60's. Yes you heard me right and I wasn't even thinking of you then it was Elvis and the Beatles and not the bugs. Go Rock N Roll. You are going to love the 40's and you will be good at it. Love ya! MOM
