Well, I am so excited today. I want to share. Yesterday was my official 7th weigh in.
This weigh in was a major concern to me. Last week, after losing consistently I gained 3/4 lb. I was so sad. What happened? I have been pretty consistent. I may have done some minor changes but not enough to GAIN.
(Probably the biggest change was being able to do the elliptical machine a lot longer. When I started 7 weeks ago I was walking on the treadmill for 20 minutes. Over time I have moved up to 30 minutes. Then I started checking out that nifty elliptical machine. It looked like a lot of fun so I had to try it. I was able to go a whole 2.5 minutes. That was pretty pitiful. Anyway, I was able to move up to 5 minutes, then 8, then 11, etc. I finally got to the point where I did 32 minutes on that machine. I felt like I had climbed a mountain I was so happy.)

So this week felt like a very important weigh in. If I gained again or stayed the same something was certainly wrong. If I lost weight maybe it was just muscle gain the week before? I was really hoping. I was almost holding my breath as I got on the scales. Oh, it was a glorious moment. I wanted to shout but the gym was really full and I thought they would look at me funny. The scales said I had lost 2.5 lbs. Yippee!!!! I am so excited that means I have lost 9.5 lbs.
I am SO close to 10 lbs. Only .5 to go.
Below are my first goals. I still am struggling with what rewards. Some of you gave me some excellent ideas...I could use more though. (If you haven't sent me your suggestions, as you can see I still need more ideas.) I just haven't figured out WHERE they should go. I have to think fast though. I only have .5 before I get my first reward.I also signed up to join a challenge on Spark People. Remember I told you that was an awesome place? After all this time it still is. I am still excited about it.
The challenge is to lose 25 lbs by Christmas! (starting 8/11/2008) I really hope to do better than that though. That will be an awesome Christmas gift to myself though. I would have actually lost a total of 34.5 lbs by Christmas if you add in what I have already lost.
-10lbs = 1st goal-reward (some time in Aug.)
-15lbs =Sept.?
-25lbs. = December/Christmas-reward

Congratulations, you're doing great, Kim! ~Karen
I love the excitement in your writings. You are doing such a great job and I'm glad you didn't give up. You could always make the December goal a trip to Indiana. Ok, I know that isn't what you were thinking about but it works for me. I love you and am so proud.
Congratulations! :D
About last week, that's one of the reasons why people quit their new "lifestyles". Because they gain weight and they think that's it's not helping, but it IS. It's completely normal to gain weight in the beginning. This is because you're body's metabolism is still getting used to the changes, but after that you'll be losing weight like crazy. ;D
Congratulations! Your doing great!
