
Another wonderful and unique gift I got for Christmas this year. Antiques are such neat treasures aren't they? Just had to show it to you. The girls want me to actually use it like they used to so many years ago. I don't think so. :-)
Here are two more really good recipes for you to try. I remember eating these while still living at home as a child.
Mother In Law Casserole
(from a wonderful Auntie)
l lb. sausage
2 1/4 c. water
2 green onions with tops
1/2 c. wild, herb, or brown rice
l lg. piece celery ( I think I skip that part)
l sm. can water chestnuts, sliced
l pkg. dry chicken noodle soup mix
Fry sausage to a crumble. Drain off fat. Use a small amount of oilandsaute onions and tops. Add celery, water, soup mix, rice and chestnuts.
Simmer l5 minutes. Combine with sausage and bake covered l 1/2 hoursat 350 degrees.
Broccoli Casserole
1 pkg. frozen broccoli-cooked & drained
1/2 c. onion
1/2 c. finely chopped celery
Sauté in 1/4 c. margarine
1 can cream of celery soup
1 soup can milk
2 c. cooked rice
1-8 oz. jar Cheese Whiz
Mix everything but cheese, put in 9x13 pan. Spread cheese on top. 300 degrees for 1 hour.
