
This is a picture of my very first Flow Blue piece. I have wanted one for a very long time. I just think they are so pretty. Sadly, like most things I like they are very expensive and it isn't easy to get them. Thanks to Santa Clause (you know who you are) I got this and many other great gifts for Christmas this year. I am adding a couple of my favorite Thanksgiving & Christmas recipes to my blog. I have had a lot of people ask for this first one over the years. It is really good. People that don't even like Sweet Potatoes like this recipe.
Sweet Potato Casserole Mix together:
2 c. mashed sweet potatoes (mash well)
2 eggs beaten
1 c. granulated sugar
1 t. vanilla
1/2 c. butter, melted
cinnamon
Spread evenly into baking dish. Sprinkle with topping.
Topping:1 c. brown sugar packed1 c. chopped pecans1/3 c. flour1/3 c. butterBake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. ( I always bake much longer)
SOUTHERN SPOON BREAD (CORN PUDDING)
1 stick butter
1 egg
1 cup sour cream
1 small box Jiffy corn bread mix
1 can cream corn
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
Melt butter in casserole dish. Mix in egg and then all remaining ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour. Serves: 8
