Break out the crock pot!

I have this crock pot and like it very much.

Great homeschooling tip but also great for everyone.
Break out the crock pot!
Though we're home most of the day, we can't always start dinner at 5 p.m. Crock pot cooking gives us the flexibility we need, when we need it. Plus, the family loves smelling those delicious flavors all day long! Here's a good one: buy an inexpensive pork roast. Place it in the bottom of the crock pot and cover with a bottle of barbecue sauce. Let it simmer all day. Serve on buns (or rolls!) with raw carrots. Easy and yummy! Cooked deli chickens are so versatile - create your own deli chicken that could last two days. Put a whole fryer in the crock pot, cover with chicken broth, add some garlic. On day one, serve the chicken with some wild rice and boiled frozen peas. Day two, serve the remaining chicken with macaroni and cheese for a hearty lunch. Larger family? Use two crock pots, or three!

This tip came from here.

Here is a great tip too. If you haven't tried these you just HAVE TO!

I hadn't tried them until recently. I HATED cleaning out the crockpot after using it. Did I say hate? Maybe a stronger more accurate word would be LOATHE or SCORNED or was HORRIFIED by cleaning that crock pot!!! Do you understand what I am saying? Ugh! I would fill the crockpot with warm soapy water after using it. Then it would sit there. Everytime I would come into the kitchen I would stare at the evil crockpot. I dreaded cleaning it and since I am not too bad at procrastinating (see how I almost made that sound like a skill?) it would keep sitting there while I kept staring at it, giving it the evil eye! Well, I have to tell you that the first time I used these babies I am pretty sure I heard the angels singing. It was a beautiful day. I never want to be without them. You can read some more from another person here or lots of people here. After you use them you will be wondering why YOU didn't think of it. Come on Ladies, I know you have plenty to say about your crockpots so join in with your comments.

I have tried them. A couple times I used them they developed holes. Not sure what I did. But at least I didn't have to clean the entire thing. LOL

I don't use them any more because since they are plastic, I don't want chemicals leaching into my food.
