Look at what was delivered to our house today.
(At the sight of this photo, I am expecting all the men out there to be doing the 'Home Improvement' " Tim The Toolman" argh argh argh)
We have been having problems with our septic system. Apparently, after 9 years the pump died. (Shortly after we moved into this house Michael and a friend dug it up. It looked like back breaking...not to mention stinky work. We can't wait to be on city sewer one day.) Michael had to dig up the pump and put in a new one. He was not looking forward to digging up the yard with a shovel. He had decided not to get the "delivery" as it seemed too expensive. He just couldn't justify it. After some conversations and a lot of over time Michael's boss ended up having this delivered to us. We will have it for the weekend and then they will come pick it up. God is good!!!
This has been a long trying day. Since my hubby is so smart he kept coming up with solutions for what seemed like impossible problems. The pump that he ordered had the cord cut in shipping. We had to go buy another one. There was another problem after that and then more. Every time another problem came up he was able to find a solution.
He started this morning and now at 8:57 pm he has finally had a shower and is relaxing in his recliner. I am So tired so I can't imagine how tired he is. He did all the work. I was just the assistant. We are getting ready to have supper now.
Here is a picture of one of Michael's helpers for today.

Tomorrow phase 2 begins. Hopefully, we (mostly Michael) will have it all done by the end of the day. We will have to say goodbye to the new toy.

It is true that little boys leave their little toys and grow up to enjoy much bigger/louder/more expensive toys. ;-)
Here is a picture of the "after math".

Sunday, Day 2:
Well, today was interesting. The girls went to church with some friends but Michael needed to finish the work with the trackhoe/pump/yard so he can go back to work Monday leaving us with the ability to run water and flush. He also needed to be finished with the trackhoe by the end of the day. Michael and I were SO tired from yesterday we slept in a bit. He was also really tired from a very long work week. By the time we got up, it was looking like it was going to rain. Michael ran around getting his work clothes on and raced outside. He was planning on doing a couple of other things but with the rain clouds looming he had to skip some things. The goal at that point became "just get the dirt back in the whole" before it starts to rain. We didn't make it in time and he had to do most of it in the rain. I was standing outside with an umbrella helping when I could. The good news is that the Track hoe had a canopy on it so he didn't get soaked. Of course, he did say that one knee was getting wet. :-)
It was kind of funny that when he got all done, we picked up all the shovels, tools, etc., & took our nasty muddy shoes off in the garage, we noticed that the rain had stopped.
Michael still has to put the fence back up so we can let Sadie out to potty without having her on a leash. (I had a good idea but he just laughed at me. I said we should tie this long thin rope we have to Sadie's leash and just let her run out the door. She could only get so far and nobody would have to go outside with her-especially in the rain.) He also wants to remake the outlet that the pump plugs into. Apparently, it is pretty bad and disintegrating. Not good.
On a happier note, we can flush again!! Yippee! The shower isn't backing up either so we are all pretty happy about this. :-)
It isn't pretty but with all the rain this is actually pretty good. It is impossible to drive something like that around in your wet yard without making a bit of a mess. After the ground dries Michael will use the shovel to smooth it out and sprinkle some seeds.
Note to my husband: Thank you honey! You did a great job. Thank you for all your hard work. You are the best! :-)
Now we must say goodbye to the wonderful (toy) piece of equipment that made at least one part of the job a lot easier and not back breaking. So long friend.....
