Flowers?

The flowers in the picture above are a mystery to me. Denise's children picked these for her. I suspect they are considered 'weeds' (shhh, don't tell the children) but I say weeds are in the eye of the beholder. My husband says they are only weeds when they are growing where you don't want them to grow.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone knows the name of the white flowers. Usually, they are really flat like a plate although in this picture they look more rounded. The white flowers are really lots & lots of tiny white flowers. We used to pick these 'flowers' for our Grandma (she loved them of course!) but I never see them in OK. They are in Indiana of course and they were in Missouri. I am wondering if I could grow them here....when I find out the name. Let me know if you have any ideas.

I believe they are a type of yarrow. You can buy a type of it for your garden that doesn't spread as much, but this looks like the native wild type.

Thanks Matthew! I looked it up in images online and I think you are right. I think that IS the name. I also noticed that there are many colors. I may try to grow them. We will see. Thanks again! Love you! ~Sis
